Why there are few Branxholm accommodations on Tripadvisor

Branxholm

As part of the ongoing drudgery of trying to boost the Gardener’s Cottage profile for people looking for quality accommodations, I have tried multiple times to have the Gardener’s Cottage listed on Tripadvisor, but the application is rejected with the sincerity of a pleasant no-reply message.

Tripadvisor reinforces impoliteness by having no provision to contact them anywhere on their websites, but you can appeal if you are an EU citizen! (appeal pending)

Given this inability to message Tripadvisor to resolve the issue I tried to include my appeal information in the title of my latest listing application as:

The Gardener’s Cottage on Warrentinna which has two accommodations the Cottage and the Overflow and stays are less than 3 days but you sent a no-reply

My application was immediately rejected with their standard text as follows:

Hello,

Thank you for suggesting that we add The Gardener’s Cottage on Warrentinna which has two accommodations the Cottage and the Overflow and stays are less than 3 days but you sent a no-reply to Tripadvisor.

The information you provided indicates that this property is for exclusive use by one guest/group at a time or requires a minimum stay longer than 7 days.

Unfortunately, this property does not meet our listing guidelines for accommodations. For more details, please see the “Accommodation Listing Guidelines” section on our Guidelines Page: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Trust-lvz7RK0Xs9UI.html.

For normal people a two day minimum is less than a seven day minimum, and two accommodations provide a choice to different guest groups, but not to the clever bots behind Tripadvisor. Dubious algorithms enforce the desire to push accommodations a hundred kilometres from Branxholm.

This is Tripadvisor’s wisely considered advice; which is allegedly explained by a link to their American website that requires a different login when I am already logged in to their Australian version.

Now I wonder how the EU will react to my appeal.

Do Europeans have a right to view accommodations that conform to the Tripadvisor listing guidelines?

Or will Tripadvisor reject the appeal form, because it does not conform to their appeal guidelines?

Or can I have a European apply for my listing on my behalf even though it is not in Australia?

It’s something to contemplate on cold wet and windy days.

High low there!

    Good(ish) News (perhaps)
“After careful consideration we have concluded our review process:
Based on the additional information and evidence you provided, we are pleased to inform you that your appeal has been successful”

Was the additional evidence that I claimed to be an EU citizen?
As of the time of writing the gardener’s cottage is still not in Tripadvisor but Casa Pinnochio still is despite being sold.
